Darcy MacCallum, Chief Executive Officer
Darcy joined Social Enterprise for Canada as its CEO in November 2022. He has extensive leadership experience in the social sector, including overseeing family and wellness programs, spearheading local and provincial-level immigrant-serving programs, directing youth-led services, and supporting community development and poverty reduction. Darcy is a visionary leader with a track record of supporting organizations, programs, and partnerships to clarify their sense of purpose, mission, and collective vision.
He is known for fostering collaborative relationships where trust and genuine appreciation for the contributions of each partner pave the way for long-lasting change and impact. Darcy holds an MDiv and an MBA. He volunteers on several boards while also actively engaging in mentoring relationships with younger leaders. Darcy is happily married, the proud father of three adult daughters.

Eric Chen, Senior Director, Finance
Eric has been with the SEC since 2011 and currently serves as the Senior Director, Finance. In this role, he oversees all SEC financial aspects. His key responsibilities include developing the SEC’s financial strategic plan, leading the annual budgeting process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, establishing financial policies and procedures, and managing the organization’s annual audit
As the senior financial lead, Eric also plays a critical advisory role to the SEC Board, Finance Committee, and senior management on risk management, financial health, and long-term sustainability.
Eric brings extensive accounting and financial leadership experience from both the business and nonprofit sectors. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, earned his Certified General Accountant (CGA) designation in 2009, and transitioned to the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in 2014.

Ajlal Haider, Senior Director, IT
With over 18 years of experience in the IT industry, Ajlal is a seasoned technology professional known for his deep technical expertise and strategic vision. His career spans a wide range of technologies, giving him a uniquely diverse perspective on the evolving landscape of information technology.
Holding an MBA in addition to his technical credentials, Ajlal combines business acumen with technological insight to drive impactful solutions that align with organizational goals. Whether it’s designing robust IT infrastructures, leading digital transformation projects, or optimizing enterprise systems, he brings a results-oriented approach rooted in best practices and innovation.
A lifelong learner, Ajlal is passionate about staying ahead of the curve. He continuously hones his skills, explores emerging technologies, and mentors others in the field. His dedication to excellence and adaptability has made him a trusted advisor and visionary leader.

Ian Ritchie, Immigrant Services and Business Development
Ian has worked in the non-profit sector since 1993, specializing in health care, community mental health, seniors home care, and, most recently, immigration services in Ontario. Ian is a results-driven senior leader with a successful history of designing, implementing, and leading transformative programs within high-performing organizations. With expertise in change management, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement, Ian excels in fostering collaborations that enhance community partnerships and drive organizational excellence. With a proven ability to build and develop teams and manage diverse divisions.
Ian’s educational background includes training from academic institutions such as John Hopkins University, the University of Pennsylvania, the Rotman School of Management, the University of Toronto, and Lakehead University.

Carol Taun, Senior Director, Early Years Services
“I started my career in the non-profit sector in 1983 in licensed childcare. By 1993, I had shifted my focus to Child and Family Support, where I worked to support licensed childcare, school-based initiatives, parent and family programs, child development, and research. Since joining the SEC in 2010, I’ve been committed to building collaborative, empowered teams that respond with creativity and compassion to the evolving needs of families and communities.”

Ying Lu, Director, Supervised Parenting Time
Ying is the Director of Family Justice Services, overseeing the Supervised Parenting Time Program in the Peel and York regions. She is an internationally trained medical specialist with over 20 years of experience in human services in Canada, including more than a decade in the non-profit sector. While not licensed to practice medicine in Canada, her background brings a unique and valuable perspective to her work. She also holds a diploma in Life Skills Coaching and is a licensed paralegal in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
With expertise in conflict resolution, crisis prevention and intervention, and stakeholder engagement, she leads a diverse team committed to ensuring that children have safe and meaningful contact with their parents and family members during challenging times. Her leadership is grounded in a deep dedication to trauma-informed, child-centered support for families.

Leisa Nunes, Senior Director, People and Culture
Leisa is a passionate people leader with over 22 years of progressive HR experience in the not-for-profit sector. She brings lived experience, radical empathy, and a strong commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and well-being. Since joining the SEC in 2023, she has led transformative people strategies that support a thriving and inclusive workplace. Leisa is known for her collaborative approach, creative problem-solving, and unwavering focus on building an engaged, values-driven workforce.
Leisa’s work is rooted in the belief that people are the heart and strength of organizational success. Leisa is a graduate of St. Lawrence College and TMU’s Ted Rogers School of Management Human Resources Programs and holds her Certified Human Resources Professional Designation from the HRPA. Leisa is also an accomplished musician and vocalist and supports several volunteer initiatives in this capacity.

Allan (Al) Duffy, Chair
Al grew up in Toronto in the 1960s where he was a partner in two engineering companies specializing in materials Testing and building Inspections. He was involved in Projects such as the CN Tower, Pickering Nuclear Project, and many other landmark buildings.
In the 70s Al and his wife moved to Richmond Hill where he was elected to the Council of the Town of Richmond Hill, and in 1980 became the Youngest Mayor to be elected in Richmond Hill. He has served on the Council of the Regional Municipality of York, the Board of Governors of Seneca College, York Central Hospital, Toronto Grace Hospital, Toronto Exhibition Board, Ontario Place, and many Municipal, Regional, and Provincial Boards and Committees. Al continues to be involved in many large-scale urban developments, including the new Town of Queensville where he is a development partner.
Al and his wife have traveled the continent from Florida to Alaska, San Diego to Newfoundland, and coast to coast on their Harleys. They have two daughters and six grandchildren.
Vincenza (Vinny) Berman, Vice-Chair
An expert in Human Resources and organizational management, Vinnie served as the Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development for William Osler Heath System, Chief Human Resources Office and Executive Director of Organizational Effectiveness with Toronto Grace Health Centre, and served as an Executive Officer with York University.
Vinnie has served on the SEC board since 2009. Vinnie is currently the CEO and Founder of V Berman and Associates Inc/HR with HeaRt.
Vinnie is a people-focused senior business leader and consultant with a strong track record of elevating the human resources function; with a strong business background capable of aligning the needs of organizations and their employees, and a creative and dynamic cultural change leader; engages employees and leads them to greatness and does it with heart.
Jennifer Zhang, Treasurer/Secretary
Jennifer is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in strategic financial management, business partnering, and driving sustainable growth across the real estate, mortgage financing, banking, and investment sectors. As Director of Finance at BGIS, she leads financial operations under major client partnerships, delivering results through strong governance, analytical insight, and collaborative leadership.
Before joining BGIS, Jennifer held key finance leadership roles at MCAP and KPMG, where she developed deep expertise in IFRS and ASPE accounting standards, complex financial reporting, and audit for financial institutions. Known for her ability to navigate complex challenges and align financial strategy with organizational objectives, Jennifer has consistently contributed to improved efficiency, profitability, and long-term value creation.
A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and graduate of the University of Toronto’s Rotman Commerce program, Jennifer is also passionate about mentorship, professional development, and fostering a culture of well-being and continuous learning in the workplace.
Michael (Mike) Raffa, Director
Michael holds an MBA in Finance, Corporate Strategy, and Accounting. Michael holds the position of Global Head of Financial Crimes Compliance for State Street Bank. State Street is a global industry leader managing over 2.5 Trillion in assets.
Michael is an intelligent and action-focused executive with experience in building teams that are diverse, inclusive, and exceptional. Adept at transforming both mature and maturing organizations across financial services and providers of market/payment infrastructure supervised by global regulators in Asia, Europe, and North America, including the Federal Reserve and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Michael has served as an SEC director since 2009.
Richard Lecours, Director
A recently retired federal public service, Manager for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada who had been responsible for the department’s team providing funding and networking across York and Durham regions for several years, along with other parts of Ontario. He was directly involved with SEC and other agencies in establishing the Welcome Centre network across the region.
Previously Richard was responsible for Multiculturalism and Francophone funding for Canadian Heritage across Ontario. Has also worked as a provincial Environmental Planner responsible for Environmental Impact Assessment reviews for the Province of New Brunswick.
Richard was the Executive Director for the New Brunswick Home Builders’ Association and led the R-2000 Home Construction standard across the Maritime provinces.
Was Board President for the Francophone community health centre for the GTA: Le Centre médico-social communautaire de Toronto, for several years. Also served on non-profit boards for a Francophone community day-care, a help crisis phone line, and a provincial environmental organization in New Brunswick.
Isabel Giraldo, Director
Isabel is the Associate Vice President of Unsecured Lending, Analytics, Insights and AI at TD Bank, where she leads a team delivering data-driven solutions for Credit Cards and Personal Lending. Over her 12-year career in analytics and financial services, including nine years at TD, Isabel has advanced from analyst to executive, combining deep business acumen with a passion for innovation and people leadership.
A strong advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, Isabel has co-chaired TD’s Canadian Latin Employee Network and led initiatives to empower women across the organization. Originally from Colombia, she is proud of her journey as an immigrant to Canada and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Outside of work, Isabel enjoys cycling, traveling, and exploring new cultures.
