WELCOME CENTRE
SYSTEM
INNOVATIVE PROJECTSSEC was commissioned by the regional municipality of York in 2007 to lead the planning and design process for the development of a welcome centre system for York region. Over the next two years, SEC would undertake extensive research and facilitate the engagement of over 30 agencies in the planning process. Now 17 years of operation, the system supports up to 25,000 new comers each year, has received world recognition and replication. Currently there are 7 central hubs, multiple mobile sites and over 40 partner organizations.

DATABASE
INNOVATIVE PROJECTSIn September of 2022, SEC will launch a unique and comprehensive client Data base that will support EarlyON Service delivery, client resources and provide significant planning data. SEC has developed this tool with support from the Region of York and intends to extend use of this system to other EarlyON providers operating in York or other regions.

INNOVATIVE PROJECTSIn 2010, SEC was asked to develop a central point of contact, information and intake for the Welcome Centre System. The communication centre offers live response in 14 languages, and provides on demand and pre-booked interpretation service. The model manages over 37,000 client contacts per year, supporting the centres in both York and Durham and hosts a click connect direct virtual service network throughout Simcoe and norther Durham regions. The service is unique to Canada.
