for Canada
The importance of donations for programs to develop and succeed.
Social Enterprise for Canada (SEC) offers the Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP) to vulnerable pregnant women.
These include pregnant women and teens living in poverty, isolation or with poor access to health and social services. Our clients include recent immigrants, Aboriginal women, pregnant women and teens with mental health issues, pregnant women who abuse alcohol or other substances, or live with violence.
Our goal is to promote healthy birth outcomes. To this end, we offer breastfeeding support, one-to-one nutritional counseling, food preparation training, support, education, counseling on health and lifestyle issues, child care and referral to other services.
If needed, we also provide food and vitamin supplements as well as transportation.
This program is offered free of charge.
If you are pregnant and would like to participate in this program, please drop in to our Woodbridge or Oak Ridges centres. Our staff will be pleased to show you around, answer any questions you may have, and determine with you whether the program will meet your needs.
