What Parents Need to Know

Field Trips

Throughout the year, our Child Care Centre will take field trips to places of special interest.

We will provide parents and guardians with information pertaining to the field trip destination, date and time in advance. A nominal fee may be charged to assist with bus rental costs and admission fees.

If you do not wish for your child to participate in the field trip, we ask that you find alternate care for your child during this period of time, as staff is required to attend all field trips.

Your Child's Clothing

When coming to the program, your children should wear weather-appropriate, comfortable clothing, allowing them to dress themselves.  A pair of shoes with non marking soles is required for program indoor use.

There will be special events and theme days scheduled each month and children will be encouraged to dress accordingly or bring an appropriate costume from home.  We will keep you informed of all upcoming events.

Children are requested to keep a second set of clothing at the Centre in case of accidents.  Such clothing should include a shirt, pants, underwear and socks.

All items provided to the centre for use throughout the day must be clearly labeled with your child’s first and last name.

Toys from home are not permitted as our centre cannot be responsible for loss or damage to personal objects.

Babysitting Policy

Staff members who work in our child care centres are not permitted to provide babysitting services to clients.

Gift Giving Policy

Our staff has been requested not to accept any gifts.  If families feel the need to give a gift to acknowledge service, we ask that the gift be centre-based so that the entire staff may benefit.  Under no circumstances are staff permitted to accept cash or a cash equivalent of any amount.

Parents Getting Involved

We have an open door policy and invite parents to drop by at any time to observe or participate in activities.  We welcome your involvement and support and look forward to receiving your feedback or suggestions – Click on feedback and take a minute to let us know what you think – or talk to our to our program staff.

We encourage parents and guardians to discuss their concerns with the Centre Supervisor. If matters cannot be resolved by the Supervisor, please contact the Manager of Child Care, at 905 895-0809, ext 5318.
