Our Licensed Child Care Program

Our Child Care Centre offers a safe, secure and nurturing environment for small children who require care and supervision during week days. 

We offer programs that cater to the following age categories:

• Pre-school  2 ½ - 3 ½ years of age,
• Junior Kindergarten  3 ½ - 4 ½ years of age, and
• Senior Kindergarten  4 ½ - 6 years of age.

Our expert staff members teach children to express their creativity through arts and crafts and to develop their gross motor skills through physical activity. Children are involved in cooperative games, cognitive recognition, cooking and a number of other age-appropriate activities.  We make sure children are busy, happy and well cared for throughout the day.

As a licensed child care, our centre meets and maintains specific provincial standards that are described in the Day Nurseries Act.  Adherence to these standards ensures that your children’s developmental needs, health and safety are met.

The Day Nurseries Act requires that children between the ages of 2½ to 6 years old attending a child care centre for whole days, need to rest for a minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of 2 hours daily. Our Centre adheres to the Act by allowing for a rest period after lunch. Children are not required to sleep, but must have a quiet period on a bed. Wherever possible, an area for non-sleepers is arranged for children who do not wish to rest after the first hour of naptime.

Parents will be asked to supply a blanket for their child; this blanket will be sent home to be washed twice a month.  Cots and sheets are supplied and cleaned by the Centre.
