25 Years of Service Excellence

Social Enterprise for Canada (SEC) celebrated 25 years of service excellence with a luncheon at Chateau Le Jardin in Woodbridge on October 12th. SEC wished to shine a light on the many community and government agencies and individuals who have supported its mission of “envisioning a community that exemplifies Canadian values, where all people realize their full potential and have the opportunity to belong in, and contribute to, a prosperous and inclusive society.”

Over the course of 25 years, Social Enterprise for Canada has been fortunate to have many supporters in the community, and beyond.  Among those in attendance was Mayor Frank Scarpitti, Mayor of  Markham who was presented with a plaque of appreciation for his valued support by SEC Vice-Chair, Dr. Frank Dimant. During his acceptance, Mayor Scarpitti congratulated the SEC past and present board members “… for the tremendous leadership that you have shown, not only for providing what is critically important, investment in people, but in doing it in such a way that doesn’t always wait for the next government program to be announced.”

Awards were also presented to Government Supporting Partners, Partners in Service and past and present Board members. Exemplary Leadership and Governance appreciation was also shown to past Board chair, Fred Tufnell and two current board members; Dr. Frank Dimant, Vice-Chair and Richard Quinney, Board Treasurer.
